Center Fire Saddle Rigging

Long Time - No See

After quite a long time without really good internet connection and admittedly relatively little time and inclination to post today once again a detailed update about our trip. I have it in Don Det but still managed a few pictures but most likely involve at least now I get to the Plain of Jars reinzustellen a few pictures.

(freezing cold in Laos, LabStation)

There are buses directly from Phonsavan while in the south, but this will be extremely bad and the road will be littered with Dreckloechern, we have decided once again caused the Vientiane to travel to the south. After all, the mission is exactly the same length, the route is pleasant, and Martina has a book in a guesthouse forgotten. The journey was as usual of the usual madness. A mandatory tire blowouts on the road, a bus full of locals just along the road to Gruppenpissen continues and can teach a mountain road, the one to fear. Somehow, I am indeed the conviction that I did not get on a bus, train or Flugzeugunglueck killed ... this vague idea in the downhill turf helps Martina idle but not really continue. Against all fears in the evening we arrived safely in Vientiane, and have gotten there despite the Internet reservation no place in our Guest House. Unfortunately, the book by Martin was not there. In the evening, wars still cozy because we met a French couple who shared their own rip-off Stories are told. 80 Euro for 4 cups of tea in Beijing are far one of the haarstreubendsten stories. So far so good the first 1670 km of our trip (flight course excluded) were done so .. In the evening we bought a ticket to Thakek a really funny old couple. The next day we were picked up by both private car and taken to the bus station. During the journey, the really old guy constantly while talking with us and his wife, and constantly with a strange laugh about the many accidents on the street reported (Martina: while he would have his zamgrittn scrap truck in 4th gear almost - it would be a 5 speed circuit have been). Hard to describe why, but the two were a total of simple for tearing funny.

(Chinatown in Vientiane, Big Tuk Tuk)

a calm bus ride later we arrived in Thakek. There are basically nothing but a large National Park and few tourists. Overall, it would there some type seen (including a motorcycle tour of surrounding villages of the 2 days does), but because we want to end our journey still have a few days on the beach, we decided on an organized tour to the nearby caves. We have a dutch couple, accompanied by a completely mistaken the French made (all about 60). Jean, the Frenchman, every 2 seconds Photos shot ... continuously until the end of its memory card. Despite the large age difference, the two Hollaender was probably the nicest people we've met so far. Fearless have both with us in inaccessible caves crashed without complaint and even in our journey, we had quite a lot of fun with you. We should have two rather reminds you of your children - after all, wanted the two constantly for us to pay because of your age so the money is anyway a shit and say goodbye when both were visibly sad. Besides the great time with the two we now have an invitation to Amsterdam and a possibility to sleep there. In Thakek we slept in a Travel Lodge at each evening a camp fire was angezunden - damn cozy and Christian's grain was really a hit with the other tourists. The tour to the caves was extremely negligent (although I really felt sick the whole morning ... after all, had to pay off the scoring escapades times). One of the caves had done to us especially - in the middle of a river and around a cave with the structures of the Grande Grotta in Kalymnos are not dissimilar. With a battery Hilti, a few bolts and a good deal to Buddhism disrespect would create a climbing Mecca. We keep having bouldering - the guide was still visibly impressed.

(I want to see MOUNTAINS, Gandalf!)

(Cave Tour)

The next day we drove to the respondents Holla, Jean the lunatic and a really unpleasant French Moechtegernkuenstlerin in the same age to Pakse. Was indeed a VIP bus but the only one of our trip without AC - and that when - not surprisingly - tropical temperatures. A truly exhausting journey later, we have in Pakse at least got a really good room and in the evening also really good (and hot) eaten. The food was out of sheer sentimentality almost paid for by the Dutchmen - as I said we would rather have carved out an invitation to Amsterdam. Since about 2000 km in 12 days was not enough, we are on the next day just after Si Phan Don - the land of 4000 islands - further.

(market including dead squirrels)

(Rith & Hank, Sunset)

The ride in the minibus for 2 hours was a real benefit in comparison to our other Trips. From there happy at the swaying boat 10 minutes with a really cool island landscape in the Mekong River to Don Det in scorching heat, I have - shame on me - decided at the Guest House search difficult wrong and we in scorching heat and extreme humidity, a 3km walk in full gear to Rattenloechern brought the worst ever. Despite a short-term mood slump, we managed finally to find the pearl of all Guesthaeuser. With a little skill Hanel we could push the price even at 12 € and that we have spent 3 nights to relax in the most beautiful rooms of the journey (for now). On Don Det are only bungalows, electricity in the evening of 6 to 10, and otherwise only hammocks, chickens, pigs, cats, dogs, farmers, local chilling, still chilling foreigners and a Riesenvorat of grass. (May explain the chill)
It has really been good for us even a little kick back and despite showering 5 times daily because of the heat it was really comfortable. Most of the time we spent in a bakery that operates an Australian in the semi-wooden huts hangs over the Mekong. There are all sorts of unique delicacies, all prepared without electricity. Overall, Darren was the baker ('"I'm either drunk or stoned"), a phenomenon for themselves. Constantly on it and still mainly concerned about the welfare of Geimeinschaft. After all of the tourists were also summarized the shit in a bikini over the island are gone. On the second day we have
We wrestled in the midday heat in a rather run-down wheels entrance to the neighboring island, where it visited a waterfall - a whole was a good excuse for Bakery in the back to eat there anymore. Furthermore, we could still cost grilled bananas and our must-eat list, highlight.

(Mekong, Main Street Don Det)

(More Mekong)

(Muchmore Mekong)

(luxury bungalows)

My Resume about the island coincides with a guy from Manchester in the Thakek while driving drunk has said the following: "Mate, mo relaxed than Don Det .... WOOOHHHH ... I do not think thats possible '. " Let's see, according to Martin is in Sihanoukville at least as comfortable ... only with electricity and clean sea instead of stinking Mekong inside with all sorts of animals.
